Hyaluronan is a naturally occurring moisturizing element (NMF) in our skin, which can bind up to 1000 times its own weight in water (i.e. a single gram can bind 6 liters!), making it extremely effective for hydration and against dehydration.
This light & fast-absorbing formula combines the power of five forms of hyaluronan with different molecular weights and structures. It has two forms of the gold standard Sodium Hyaluronate, a cross-polymer (which has a longer chain than regular hyaluronan and therefore has a longer duration of action), a silver mushroom extract, also known as plant hyaluronan, and a so-called 'hydrolyzed' hyaluronan, which in addition to hydration, strengthens and regenerates the skin's natural protective layer.
Together they have the power and strength to hydrate and soften your skin, but without leaving a heavy or oily feel. They also provide extra help to prevent dehydration, with the bonus of helping to smooth fine lines and create a plump and fresh overall look.
Key ingredients:
Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer
'Cross-linked' hyaluronic acid, i.e. a modified form of "normal" hyaluronic acid attached to a polymer structure. It has five times the water-binding capacity of normal hyaluronic acid (!), with a prolonged effect. It aids the absorption of water and water-soluble active ingredients.
Sodium Hyaluronate
The most commonly used salt form of hyaluronan; of which you'll find both lower and higher molecular weights in the formula.
Silver mushroom extract
Also referred to as plant hyaluronan, this ingredient has similar water-reteining properties to hyaluronan. It's also known for its antioxidant properties.
Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid
A lower molecular weight version of hyaluronan that's super cool for the skin's natural protective layer, supports skin regeneration, and replenishes the skin.
How to use:
Use it in the morning and/or evening after your exfoliator and serums. Apply a few drops to your face or mix them into your favorite moisturizer. Continue the cleansing routine with your usual moisturizer.
